So, here we go. It's the beginning of a brand new blog page.
I'm not the best at keeping these things up to date, but I'm going to do my best to tell you the way I see it in the world of video production, marketing, advertising, movies, business in general and what we're doing here at Allen Film & Video, Ltd.
Today the economy is on everyone's mind. Mine too. But just as we have to be careful not to eliminate the investment we make in proper marketing, we have to make sure the investment we make is the most wise, the most effective and the most sensible.
Video must:
• Be noticable
• Be focused
• Be priced in line with the desired result
You can't be noticeable, focused or properly invested when you have someone yelling, "HURRY!" in your ear, whether it's you, your associates or, in the case of doing a TV commercial, your TV sales rep. You should never enter into any advertising cycle in haste, nor should you continue a campaign in haste. Proper planning will ensure a noticeable presentation, a focused message and a quality production that makes your business look as good to your potential customers as it does to you.
A quick, cheap production doesn't do anything to make a business look good to its potential customer base. Is your business quick and cheap? Is that the story you want to tell?
If advertising is a good idea, it's an even better idea to plan ahead so you can take the proper time - and budget - to do it right... and that's the way I see it.
